KT talks about the work being done to identify and understand Western bias in the making and interpretation of a collection that holds cultural material from around the world. Using items from the Pacific Islands as a case study, she will discuss how her research into how the items were acquired and by whom affects what is "known" about the item and why indigenous consultation is essential to understanding.
